"In Wiccan theology, water is understood as the carrier of emotion. When you come up and share your water and where it is from, please share one feeling word—angry, hopeful, happy, disoriented—about how you are feeling right now."

 

Music plays as the congregation brings forward their water and pours it into the bowl on the chancel. They each have an opportunity to say a word, and the feelings pour out along with the water, like a communal emotional word poem. The water in the extra jug contains the community water from the previous year. After purifying it, we use it for child dedications and annointing the sick.
